One thing was for certain: already the three-year-old company had outgrown its existing space and needed to consolidate three separate locations into one new headquarters building. The challenge was to plan a facility that would accommodate the entire spectrum of growth possibilities. CCGI played a key role in devising a strategy to accommodate multiple scenarios, working with company officials whose specialty was improving the performance of laptop computers to developing a building program that included the establishment of space and furniture standards for the high-tech facility. CCGI also contributed invaluable expertise when the young company experienced organizational and staffing changes, both of which occurred in the midst of construction. Both developments necessitated a refitting of the new headquarters building to suit SystemSoft, and those portions of the building which SystemSoft had negotiated to sublease. The changing makeup of the company population required a rapid redesign and fast-track scheduling of construction, all while negotiating new sublease terms with the building owner.
