One thing was for certain: already the three-year-old company had outgrown its existing space and needed to consolidate three separate locations into one new headquarters building. The challenge was to plan a facility that would accommodate the entire spectrum of growth possibilities. CCGI played a key role in devising a strategy to accommodate multiple scenarios, working with company officials whose specialty was improving the performance of laptop computers to developing a building program that included the establishment of space and furniture standards for the high-tech facility. CCGI also contributed invaluable expertise when the young company experienced organizational and staffing changes, both of which occurred in the midst of construction. Both developments necessitated a refitting of the new headquarters building to suit SystemSoft, and those portions of the building which SystemSoft had negotiated to sublease. The changing makeup of the company population required a rapid redesign and fast-track scheduling of construction, all while negotiating new sublease terms with the building owner. CCGI led the effort with intense planning, creative sequencing of construction tasks and tight coordination of all project activities.
