Four years into a wearying fundraising and design process, the cost of this library renovation project was underestimated by $400,000, reducing the amount of state and federal grant monies by $150,000 and requiring extensive redesign and scope reduction to meet budget. In addition, bidding errors required the project to be re-bid at considerable cost and delay.
